SO MANY WHEELS! This will help get you rolling sooner, by using these 3 tips for choosing new roller skate wheels.
- Know what surface you will be skating on. That is going to narrow down your choices and make you a lot happier with your new wheels. If you are going to be skating indoors, make sure to choose that option on the wheels list. If you will be taking on the great outdoors, choose outdoor wheels. Even better if you know what your indoor skating surface is like, if it’s super slick you will want more grip, or a grippy floor you will want less grip from your wheels, knowledge is power!
- Know what you are on now, and what you want different. If you are replacing a wheel you are currently using, a great place to start is knowing what you have now. What did you like about? What do you wish was different about that wheel? Did it give you too much grip, or too little? Feel like they were too wide and clipped each other, or too narrow and you want more stability?
- Do not buy based on graphics alone. Did you know that the really cool little graphics on the outside of the wheel go away? Yup! You will find that after using them for a while you do not see that graphic anymore, so even though it may look super cool now, it will be different in six months so make sure you choose based on the overall wheel.
This helps narrow down choosing wheels, but never hesitate to ask for help! We know there are so many wheel choices out there so if you need help with finding your new dream wheel, we are here for you!
