Speed skates – don’t get nervous over the word speed in the title, it is a good thing! This refers to skates that are low cut, they vary from ones designed for kids, recreational, or speed skate competition level skates.
Outdoor skates – that is one of the easy ones, those are best for outdoor use.
Indoor skates – these are skates used for skating at your favorite skating rink, typically with a high-boot style.
Jam skates – these are best for those that prefer a low cut and especially if they love to jam skate. Not sure what jam skating is? Check out our glossary too. www.rollerskatenation.com/glossary-of-skating/
Roller Derby skates – these are ideal for roller derby skaters, but can of course be used for any type of skating your little heart desires, if you like ‘em you should roll in ‘em.
Kids skates – another one of the easy ones, these are for the kiddos! We have them starting at Juvenile 7 (sometimes called toddler size 7) – Kids 4. Anything 4 and above you have to go up to an adult skate so you choose from indoor/outdoor/jam/speed etc.
Inline skates – this of course covers every kind of inline skates, we have them for the recreational inline skater, kid inline skater, roller hockey inline skater or inline speed skater. If quad skates are not your thing, this is the category for you!
When you break it down like this, it makes choosing from the types of roller skates a lot less scary and pretty simple. Go take a look and make all your skating dreams come true!
